What have I done in 2013?

Awake at 0420hrs. Sneezing. Sore throat. Glad that this is the first horrible sore throat of the year. Not well. Can't take mc. No staffs. Too many patients. I'm not dying, so no mc for me. Must work. Yay.

Now that I finished my breakfast, had soft boiled egg with 1 piece of wholemeal bread, looking at the clock tik-tok-ing, my mind triggered me to post something here.

It has been a smooth year besides extra hospital visits with my sister and all of the hiccups in my department since Hari Raya in August.

Aiming to achieve 2 more goals before the year ends.
-Secure a medical insurance plan
-Register for my degree course.

Next question would be when am I gonna be able to really submit myself in what I am called to do?

Aftermath of night shift

I actually have a very positive perspective towards night shift as the workload is not as mad as the morning shift and I loveeee the peacefulness. By the way shift starts at 9pm to 7.30am for student nurses.

But will still easily be sleepy no matter how much I've rested in the morning and afternoon. I'll still feel sleepy after the routine work which is done at about 4am before the next round of work which have to get started at 5am.

Another BUT, I'll feel super tired in the morning after work. I'll be super zombie-fied and my eye bags will turn HUGE.

What's the point of sacrificing myself in such a career to torture myself in such a way?

It is to give the glory back to God serving the sick people in the hospital.
It is my calling, the job given by the Almighty God, my destiny.
And I am going to fulfill it no matter how difficult it will be.

=)

Hello again

It seems that this is not going to be an attractive post.
What a line to start my post. hahahahaha

Started my practicals again 2 weeks back.
I'll be officially trained to do Staff Nurses job.
Am placed in a Medical Surgical ward.

Will be going to my dream department next week, the Emergency Room!
But I'll be there for only 4 days. With 2 off days, 1 public holiday.
Thank God that I'm working on afternoon shifts for 3 days out of 4 days.
Which means, I can learn more in the noon shift as it'll be busier.

Am I no longer a passionate blogger?
Not too sure about it tho.
EXTRA TIME is all I need.
But I can still tell you that I'm a passionate Twitterer. LOL

Kindly help me to click on the ads you see in this blog.
Will appreciate your clicks tremendously. XD

Semester 6

Today is the last day of week 1 of semester 6.
There'll be another 4 more weeks for classes before practicals and it'll be all about practicals after that.

Finally had the very 1st class of Emergency and Disaster subject and I'm loving it.
It has always been my dream to go into the emergency department.
Have to start praying hard that I'll be placed to work in the emergency department after graduation.

Subjects in this last semester of my course includes:
- Nursing in Emergency and Disaster
- Ethics and Development of law in nursing
- Nursing Management
- Nursing Research

Basically this semester is all about assignments, assignments, assignments and MORE assignments! It is really making me to reconsider whether should I take up degree course or not later on. Or just go for a post basic course??

All that is in my mind now is about ER ER ER ER ER ER ER and ER!
You have no idea how much I love the emergency area.
Thanks to the TVB drama - Healing Hands which causes me to be so in love with this area.

Easter weekend

This week was a good week.
Had been anticipating the weekend to come since Monday.

Work was pretty relaxing as I was posted to the National Eye Hospital and there were nothing much to do except for putting eye drops for patients, observing the minor procedure which the doctors perform on the patient (which I personally think procedures such as injection on the eye is amazing), and watching 'operation on eye show' where we students were placed in the audio visual room to watch the screen as the eye operation is recorded and the whole procedure appears on the screen like this.

A Phacoemulsification surgery where the cloudy layer on the lens of the eye will be scrapped off and replaced with a new lens due to cataract.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was Good Friday last night.
And it was a good good night.
CHCKL was powerpacked with 1300 came to church with 53 decisions! Hallelujah!

I have always been feeling that I can't thank God enough for my life.
As I take a step out of my comfort zone, I know I'll be challenged with many things laying ahead waiting for me to go through them.
I am here persevering, despite all of the burdens piling up in my heart.
I choose to rejoice, repent, resurrect from the old self to follow Jesus because He had died on the cross for my sins and came into my heart to be the Lord of my life, my personal Saviour.

After all that happened, all the mistakes I made, I learnt how to weigh issues in life once more. In order to see a miracle, I have to sacrifice, find ways to solve the matter no matter how tough it will be, no matter how burdened my heart felt, even if I have to sacrifice my loved ones. It may sound ridiculous but it's not, because I know I am here living for Jesus and only Jesus.

It's NOVEMBER already!

For ur information, I always love the end of the year.
Maybe it's because of Christmas or holidays, maybe not.
I don't exactly know why too. =p

I'm so so so glad that I finished my CLT!
There'll be exams, preaching test and graduation coming up in DEC.
No doubt I'm nervous but I believe I can do it =)

Will update u guys on the pictures as soon as I can.

Work had been hectic for the past 2 weeks and that was why I didn't blog much.

Community Health Nursing

This is the government Community Health Nursing clinic which I'm posted to from 28th Sept and will be working there till this Friday.
Learnt lots of things as we've never been to a government clinics/hospitals.
Our main focus on this practical is to check do new registrations for antenatal mothers, to do check ups for postnatal mothers, babies, toddlers and also to go for home visit to visit the new born babies and postnatal mothers.
This might be our only chance to work in the government sector.
It's all good.
