Today, I am going to talk about HOW TO BE A FAITH BUILDER
How many of you want to build up your faith and bring it to a higher level?
Throughout my life of being a Christian, I noticed that there are a lot of Christians who do not know what is faith exactly all about.
So, what is faith? Faith is a complete trust or confidence.
- Faith is a strong belief in a religion based on a person’s spirituality.
- It is by faith that we can do all things in life.
- It is also by faith, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
- In Heb 11:1, it says that faith is being sure of what we hope for and things we don’t see. It simply means what is seen was not made out of what is visible.
All things that we do in life starts with simple faith with simple responsibilities in life.
I believe that how we live our life determines our level of faith in our walk with God.
In the bible, it says in James 2: 17 that faith without obedient actions is dead. Therefore, faith must be seen with actions. Whether if we put effort in studying or in working, both of these require faith to keep us going.
- Without faith, I believe you wouldn’t be able to be in what you are studying and what you are working as right now.
- Without faith, Peter wouldn’t be able to walk on water.
- In all actions, it has to be accountable to God.
I’m going to share 2 points on how to have a breakthrough in your faith.
1. You must make room for Jesus
Yes, as simple as spending time to do your devotion, talk to God and to pray regularly. All you need to do is just to trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding and in your ways, acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path. As written in Proverbs 3:5-6
God is always faithful to you in every areas of your life. I believe that you know well enough that God will never forsake you. Do you agree with me, church?
In Romans 10:17, it says, Faith comes from hearing and hearing from the word of God. Which is the Good News about Christ. Do devotion more often to train yourself to listen to the voice of God clearly. Download and listen to more sermons to learn more and learn how to go deeper into the word of God so that you are able to understand the bible better.
2. You must be with the right people.
In 2 Cor 6:14 The NLT says Don't team up with those who are unbelievers. How can goodness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?
It doesn’t mean that you are not allowed to mix with non believers but be with them to influence them with you Christlike characteristics and shine for God as you are the light for God..
Be with the people who are able to help you in every area of your life.
- It doesn’t has to be 1 person, but a few person who can help you out in different areas in your life.
- For eg, a nurse to give advices to you when you encounter any health problems or a computer engineer to help you out when you computer fail on you.
- Don’t be with those who will only please other people but be with those who would please God. Learn from the leaders on how they live out their lifes.
Your faith might deter or become stagnant once in a while but if you have the passion of keeping the level faith up high or to have it going up all the time, you have to keep it burning inside of you and not to let the fire of faith go off.
- You have to keep the faith pumping like how your heart pumps all the time.
- We would have suffer with heart failure if our heart stops pumping. Same goes to our faith. We could suffer with faith failure if we do not keep our faith burning.
- And without faith, we might fall into the well of darkness and everything in life wouldn’t be achievable.
- Faith in little things is the greatest faith.
Zechariah 4:10, Do not despise the small beginning for the eyes of the Lord rejoice to see the work begin.
As believers, we don't put our trust in circumstances or people. Our trust remains in the Lord.
- God is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we can ask or think.
- This is what we are believing for, and I am confident that it will happen as we join hands and hearts to offer real hope to people … hope that can only be found in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Amen?
How many of you want to be a strong faith builder and bring it to another level?
Let us draw near to God with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Don't ever forget those early days when you first learned about Christ.
Remember how you remained faithful even though it meant terrible suffering. Remember how God had kept you throughout the sufferings. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith because God is always faithful. Our faith assures our salvation.
Let us close our eyes and bow out heads now.
Maybe you feel that you are lack of faith or it has became stagnant or deterred, maybe you need more of God in your life to build your faith, maybe you need God to bring you into a deeper relationship with Him.
If that is you who are trusting God to help you to grow stronger spiritually, if it is you who God is calling you to open up your heart to allow Him to enter your heart tonight, let me pray for you, no one is looking, all heads bowed and every eyes closed. Friends are you ready? On a count of 3, I want you to lift up your hands so I can pray for you. One, Two, Three!
This happened on the 20th Dec 2009, at the spiritual age of 5.
I know I've grown a LOT ever since I joined CHCKL and I know there's more to come.
God is so much more closer to me now.
CHCKL is my life now and I know I can't live without this church.
